Two storeys down the ground underneath the European Commission’s main building lies the Commission’s Press Room. This is pretty much the hub of the news vortex whirling around the Union’s management, the watering hole for hordes of stampeding journalists, and a place I frequent due to my job quite often. Due to its physical and organisational position, it certainly gives the impression of being the Union’s underbelly.
Much of what you read here stems from there. But not only. On this blog, you will also read other fringe stuff from the daily madness in Brussels, which rarely reaches the news headlines, scavenged from places you’d never dream of.
Hence, the title seemed seriously suitable.
